Fair Oak and Horton Heath Parish Council, Eastleigh, Ligier Pulse 4

Fair Oak and Horton Heath Parish Council recently made a significant move towards sustainability by receiving delivery of two new Electric Utility Vehicles.

From the Ligier Pulse 4 range, a fully Electric Box Van and Electric Flatbed Tipper join the council’s existing fleet. As part of their ongoing efforts to transition towards greener practices, the council recognised the potential of electric vehicles to help minimise emissions and sought to integrate them into their day-to-day operations.

These two electric beauties are charged and ready to help with various projects the council have lined up including the Bee and Tree Corridor Project which plants trees and flowers to provide food and shelter for the bees and other pollinators important to our ecosystem.

The vehicles are compact and small in size, making them ideal for stop-and-go journeys like nipping around the village or other year-long jobs such as cutting the grass every two weeks, maintaining over 1500 meters of hedges and assisting with the overall upkeep of the village aesthetics.

With the choice of a left-hand drive, this range allows for easier access to the pavement and will massively help the team when it comes to watering over 60 hanging baskets daily throughout the summer.

Through their electric transmission, they also produce less noise which is extremely important when working in and around a small town like Eastleigh.

The council’s mission statement emphasises how essential it is to do what we can locally to ensure we live in a nicer, happier and kinder community and we’re so happy we could assist Fair Oak and Horton Heath Parish Council with their vision. It’s great to see the public sector making positive changes and contributing to the fight against climate change.
